The BMW Manufacturing Disaster Relief Program was created to help our associates who are in need of financial assistance following the unprecedented natural disaster of Hurricane Helene. The Program is intended to assist associates who have experienced significant loss, such as major damage or entire loss of a home, as a result of the natural disaster.
Associates at BMW Manufacturing (BMW and CWF) can apply to the Disaster Relief Program.
Associates must be active employees at the time of the application and distribution.
Catastrophic damage, major or complete loss related to associate‘s primary dwelling or primary form of transportation. Requested documentation must be provided to be considered for funding. Applications must be submitted by October 26, 2024 to be considered for the disaster relief program.
Federal law states that amounts paid to reimburse or pay reasonable and necessary expenses incurred as a result of a qualified disaster, including expenses to repair or rehabilitate a personal residence (whether rented or owned) and/or including repair or replacement of the contents of a personal residence, are not subject to federal income taxation to the extent any such expense is not otherwise reimbursed, such as by insurance.
Once your application is submitted, the Disaster Relief Program Committee will review your application. If any additional information or supporting documentation is needed, they will contact you with the request. When all documentation is collected, the Committee will review your request and make a decision whether Disaster Relief funds will be awarded. Because we do not know the amount of requests we will receive, we do not yet know how long the approval and distribution process will take. We do not anticipate being able to fulfill all of the requests, but will evaluate them based on their severity and urgency. You will be notified via email with the decision of the Committee.
Yes, your personal information is only used to determine your eligibility for the Disaster Relief Program and for the decision regarding the amount of funding to be awarded. Your application will be treated confidentially.
